Stephen Miller Named White House Chief of Staff, Replacing Susie Wiles

President Donald Trump has appointed Stephen Miller as the new White House chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles, who submitted her resignation Thursday night. This announcement follows a period of major losses for Republicans in the midterm elections earlier this week. CBS News senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang reported on the transition, noting that Miller, a prominent advocate for immigration enforcement, will take over the role. The appointment has drawn immediate praise from key figures within the administration. JD Vance and various immigration reformers have publicly applauded Miller's promotion to the top domestic policy position. Breitbart highlighted the reaction from these groups, framing the move as a significant shift toward populist immigration strategies. Red State also noted the emergence of clues regarding the decision, suggesting the timing is linked to the recent electoral landscape. The core facts indicate a clear personnel change driven by the administration's response to midterm results. Susie Wiles is stepping down, and Stephen Miller is entering the role. Perspectives from the news cycle reflect a unified stance from the Republican base and leadership regarding this specific appointment, with sources like CBS News and Breitbart documenting the immediate reactions and the context of the resignation. #NexSouk #AIForGood #EthicalAI #USPolitics #ImmigrationPolicy **References** * CBS News: "What the White House might look like with Stephen Miller as the new chief of staff" (https://www.cbsnews.com/video/what-the-white-house-might-look-like-with-stephen-miller-as-the-new-chief-of-staff/) * Breitbart: "JD Vance, Immigration Hawks Applaud Stephen Miller's Promotion to WH Chief of Staff" (https://www.breitbart.com/immigration/2026/11/06/vance-immigration-hawks-applaud-stephen-millers-promotion-to-white-house-house-chief-of-staff/) * Red State: "Clues Emerge on Why Trump Tapped Stephen Miller As New White House Chief of Staff" (https://redstate.com/beccalower/2026/11/06/trump-stephen-miller-new-wh-chief-of-staff-n2209128) * CBS News: "Stephen Miller to replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff" (https://www.cbsnews.com/video/stephen-miller-to-replace-susie-wiles-as-white-house-chief-of-staff-1/) **Political Bias Index** **Blue (Liberal)**: 1/10 *Note: The article synthesizes reported facts from the provided sources, which overwhelmingly focus on the appointment of a figure associated with conservative immigration policies and the reaction of Republican leadership.
