'Married at First Sight' UK Cancelled After Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Channel 4 has officially cancelled the reality dating show *Married at First Sight UK* following a decade on air, a decision driven by serious allegations of sexual misconduct against two contestants. The broadcaster confirmed the cancellation after an internal review determined that the show required "added guardrails" to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its contributors. According to reports from major media outlets, the cancellation stems from claims made by two participants who alleged they had been raped during the production. In response to these allegations, Channel 4 stated that the show's budget would be reinvested into "distinctive new programming." The network issued an apology to the women involved and emphasized their commitment to strengthening industry standards. "The hope is that our actions – in swiftly commissioning the review and taking clear, decisive steps – demonstrate our commitment to the wellbeing of all contributors and our desire to relentlessly strengthen industry standards," Channel 4 stated in their official communication regarding the decision. This move marks a significant shift for the franchise, which had run for ten years. The cancellation highlights growing scrutiny within the entertainment industry regarding the safety protocols of reality television productions and the ethical treatment of participants. **Sources:** * BBC News: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cw33xm0de221o?at_medium=RSS&at_campaign=rss * TMZ: https://www.tmz.com/2026/11/05/married-at-first-sight-uk-canceled/ * BuzzFeed: https://www.buzzfeed.com/beccamonaghan/married-at-first-sight-cancelled **References** 1.
