Mariners Hire Swanson, BYU's LJ Martin Set to Return from Injury

Two distinct sports stories have recently emerged from the world of professional and collegiate athletics, centering on a coaching transition in Major League Baseball and a significant injury update in college football. According to reports from ESPN, the Seattle Mariners have hired Tanner Swanson as their new bench coach. Swanson, who previously served as the catching coach and field coordinator for the New York Yankees, is joining the Mariners' staff, a move confirmed by sources speaking to ESPN on Friday. Simultaneously, in the realm of college football, BYU running back LJ Martin is expected to return to the field. Sources told ESPN that Martin, who has been sidelined since October 3 due to an ankle injury, will play in the Cougars' upcoming game against the No. 3 ranked Utah team. These developments highlight ongoing roster adjustments and recovery timelines that directly impact team strategies and competitive outlooks. The hiring of Swanson represents a shift in leadership for the Mariners' bench, while Martin's potential return offers a critical boost to BYU's offensive capabilities against a top-tier opponent. #NexSouk #AIForGood #EthicalAI #CollegeFootball #MLB **References** 1.
