Democrats Achieve Historic Full Control of Congress in Stunning Midterm Rout of Trump

In a decisive and unprecedented midterm election outcome, Democrats have secured full control of the United States Congress, winning both the House of Representatives and the Senate. This historic victory marks the first time since 2023 that Democrats hold both chambers simultaneously, effectively rebuking President Trump and his administration. According to NBC News, Democrats have won control of the House of Representatives, with CNN projecting that Abdul El-Sayed will win the Michigan race as part of the broader sweep. The Guardian reported that U.S. voters delivered a clear message, rebuking Trump as Democrats secured these historic majorities. AP News provided live updates confirming that voters gave Democrats control of Congress in a direct rebuke to the former president. The Senate results were equally significant. NPR reported that Democrats picked up seven Senate seats on Tuesday night, flipping the chamber in a decisive victory. This shift ensures that Democrats now control the upper chamber of Congress. NPR further detailed in an "Up First" newsletter that Democrats have won both the House and the Senate, taking full control of Congress for the first time since 2023, while noting that history was made in several key states during the election night. Additionally, the governorship in Nevada saw a major shift. NBC News projects that Democrat Aaron Ford, Nevada's attorney general, has unseated GOP Governor Joe Lombardo. This win flips control of the governorship in the key battleground state of Nevada, adding to the Democrats' comprehensive victory in the 2026 election cycle. The convergence of these results across multiple credible outlets paints a picture of a unified Democratic victory, characterized by a "blue wave" that has swept through the House, Senate, and state governorships. #NexSouk #AIForGood #EthicalAI #MidtermResults #NevadaGovernor **References** * NBC News.
