In Missouri, dense fog advisories have been issued for central, north central, northeast, and west central regions, with visibility reduced to one quarter mile or less. The NWS warns that low visibility could make driving conditions dangerous until 9 AM CST. A similar advisory is in effect for Maries, Miller, Pulaski, Phelps, Dent, Howell, Oregon, Shannon, and Texas Counties, where visibility may fluctuate at times.
In Texas, a flood advisory has been issued for west central areas, including Coke, Runnels, and Tom Green Counties. Excessive rainfall is expected to cause minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Doppler radar indicates heavy rain from thunderstorms, with up to 2.5 inches already fallen and an additional 1.5 inches expected, leading to further flooding.
Moving westward, Wyoming is facing high wind warnings in the Bordeaux area along Interstate 25 between Chugwater and Wheatland. West winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are anticipated, posing a hazard to transportation, especially for light-weight or high-profile vehicles. Additionally, high wind warnings are in place for the North Snowy Range Foothills, including Arlington and Elk Mountain along Interstate 80, with winds of 30 to 45 mph and gusts up to 70 mph expected.
In Indiana, a special weather statement alerts to patchy dense fog potentially reducing visibility to around one quarter of a mile through mid-morning. Travelers are advised to be vigilant for rapid changes in visibility and to allow extra time to reach their destinations.
These weather alerts highlight the importance of staying informed and prepared for changing conditions. It is crucial for residents in affected areas to heed the warnings from the NWS, take necessary precautions, and prioritize safety while traveling. By staying vigilant and proactive, individuals can mitigate risks and navigate through challenging weather scenarios effectively.
