In Texas, a Special Weather Statement issued by NWS Fort Worth TX highlighted the presence of strong thunderstorms moving eastward, with occasional wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph. The impacted areas include Wills Point, Canton, and Lake Tawakoni, among others. These storms could lead to downed tree limbs and unsecured objects being blown around, posing risks to individuals in the affected areas.
In Illinois and Missouri, Dense Fog Advisories have been issued by NWS Lincoln IL and NWS Springfield MO, respectively. Visibility is expected to be less than one quarter mile in dense fog, making driving conditions hazardous until 9 AM CST on Friday. The impacted regions cover central, east central, west central Illinois, as well as central, east central, and south central Missouri.
Furthermore, NWS State College PA issued a Special Weather Statement warning of fog reducing visibilities to less than a quarter of a mile in Pennsylvania. The fog is expected to persist overnight and gradually improve on Friday morning, affecting drivers traversing higher terrain and valleys.
In Kentucky and Missouri, Dense Fog Advisories were issued by NWS Paducah KY and NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO, respectively. Visibility of one quarter mile or less in dense fog is anticipated, posing risks to drivers until 9 AM CST on Friday. The affected areas include southern Illinois, western Kentucky, and portions of central, north central, and northeast Missouri.
Additionally, in California, a Flood Advisory was issued by NWS San Diego CA for the High Desert region due to excessive rainfall causing minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. The advisory is in effect until 6:25 PM PST, with additional rainfall expected to exacerbate flooding conditions.
