As severe weather events continue to impact various regions across the United States, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple alerts to warn residents of potential hazards. Hazardous travel conditions are expected on several highways in the affected areas.
Additionally, Flash Flood Warnings have been issued for parts of northeastern Texas, including Cherokee, Rusk, and Smith counties. Thunderstorms producing heavy rain have already led to 2 to 3 inches of rainfall, with the potential for an additional 1 to 2 inches. Flash flooding of small creeks, streams, urban areas, and highways is likely, urging residents to stay vigilant.
