This hands-on workshop is open to individuals aged 13 and above who are interested in sewing. Participants will have the opportunity to create a simple yet functional apron from start to finish. All you need to bring is two yards of quilting cotton, and you’ll learn the basics of machine sewing while crafting something practical for everyday use.
What makes this event even more special is that it is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. The National Endowment for the Arts Big Read, a partnership with Arts Midwest, aims to broaden our understanding of the world, our neighbors, and ourselves through the power of shared reading. By showcasing a diverse range of themes, voices, and perspectives, the NEA Big Read encourages meaningful conversations, artistic responses, and new discoveries within each community.
This workshop is not just about sewing; it’s about coming together as a community to engage in a creative and educational experience. Whether you’re a seasoned sewer or a complete beginner, this event offers something for everyone.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn a new skill, connect with fellow community members, and support the arts. Join us at the Vigo County Public Library on March 25th for an evening of creativity and fun!
