The event kicks off with an opening ceremony on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM, featuring local leaders, organizers, and guest speakers, including a virtual appearance by Cleve Jones, the founder of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. This ceremony holds special significance as original materials from the 1994 Wabash Valley AIDS Memorial Quilt display will be entrusted to the Vigo County History Center for preservation, marking a crucial moment in local history.
Throughout the three-day event, attendees can explore informational booths from community organizations and participate in various activities at the History Center and nearby locations. Free HIV and STI testing will also be available daily from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM through Positive Link. Additionally, on Saturday, April 25, the Pride Center of Terre Haute will host an all-ages drag show themed “Heroes vs. Villains,” followed by the “Stitch & Strut” 21+ drag show at the Treehouse Eatery & Drinkery.
General admission to the Vigo County History Center applies during the quilt display, with discounted pricing available using the code word “PRIDE.” While the opening ceremony is free, admission is required to explore the full museum.
