During this exciting event, children will have the opportunity to become the Jackson Pollock of pasta or the Georgia O’Keeffe of kitchen scraps. They will learn how to create colorful dyes from leftovers, make bold prints with vegetable off-cuts, and even paint with spaghetti! This hands-on experience promises to be both educational and entertaining, allowing young participants to explore their creativity in a whole new way.
Supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, this program is part of the NEA Big Read, a partnership with Arts Midwest that aims to broaden our understanding of the world, our neighbors, and ourselves through the power of shared reading. By showcasing a diverse range of themes, voices, and perspectives, the NEA Big Read encourages meaningful conversations, artistic responses, and new discoveries and connections within each community.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in a one-of-a-kind artistic experience that celebrates creativity, sustainability, and the joy of experimentation. Bring your little ones along for an evening of food-inspired fun at the West Terre Haute Library.
Expected attendance is high, so be sure to secure your spot by registering in advance. We can’t wait to see you there!
