Nintendo fans have something exciting to look forward to as the company announced the release of the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, set to arrive on March 26. This upgraded edition, officially named Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, promises a host of new features and gameplay experiences for players.
The new version of the game will introduce co-op and multiplayer features, allowing players to team up or compete with friends in various modes. Bellabel Park, a fresh area within the Flower Kingdom, will be accessible, providing a space for multiplayer modes where players can collect coins and engage in different challenges.
One notable addition is the Game Room Plaza, offering local and online play for six minigames. Players can participate in these games either locally with up to eight people using wireless connectivity or online with up to 12 players. Additionally, the Toad Brigade Training Camp in Bellabel Park will present challenges based on levels from the main game, allowing players to team up with friends to tackle these tasks.
In the main game, players will have the opportunity to take on boss courses featuring all seven Koopalings and play as Rosalina for the first time. A new feature allows a second player to control a Luma, assisting the main player in defeating enemies and collecting coins. This feature is particularly beneficial for players who may need extra help navigating the game.
Moreover, an assist mode will be available, enabling players to quickly recover from falling into pits and avoid taking damage. The addition of three new amiibo characters, including Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and Captain Toad & Talking Flower, further enhances the gaming experience.
In addition to the game release, Nintendo will also offer a physical version of the Talking Flower from Super Mario Bros. Wonder on March 12. This battery-powered device will provide hourly updates on room temperature and time, along with the ability to play music and interact with users.
