Water levels were projected to rise significantly above the normal highest tide line, potentially causing coastal flooding, erosion, and inundation of low-lying areas. The remnants of Typhoon Halong were anticipated to bring strong south to southwesterly winds, further exacerbating the coastal flooding risks in the affected areas.
