Severe thunderstorms have been sweeping across the Midwest, with multiple states under warnings issued by the National Weather Service. South Dakota also experienced strong thunderstorms, with one located near Martin and another along a line extending from Kyle to Merriman. These storms brought wind gusts of up to 40 mph and nickel-size hail, potentially causing damage to tree limbs, unsecured objects, and vegetation.
In New Mexico, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for southwestern Hidalgo County, with a storm located near Cloverdale moving east at 20 mph. This storm was producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, posing risks of damage to vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees.
The Midwest region continues to face severe weather conditions, with additional Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued for areas in Iowa and South Dakota. Residents in these areas are advised to stay indoors, away from windows, and to secure any loose objects that could be blown around by strong winds.
As these severe thunderstorms impact various states in the Midwest, it is crucial for residents to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and protect their property from potential damage.
