Each week, participants will learn new techniques, from how to hold a hook and yarn to mastering stitches like single, double, and triple crochet. Through engaging and interactive activities, children will practice their newfound skills and work towards a final project – a colorful granny square.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! At the end of the 8-week series, all the individual squares created by the young yarners will be joined together to make a cozy community blanket. What a wonderful way to showcase the talents and creativity of each participant while also fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
This event is not only a great opportunity for children to learn a new skill and express their creativity, but it also holds significance for the local community. By coming together to create a communal blanket, participants will not only bond over their shared love for crocheting but also contribute to a tangible and heartwarming project that represents unity and teamwork.
The event will kick off on June 30th at 2:00 PM at the Vigo County Public Library. With limited spots available, be sure to sign up soon to secure your child’s spot in this exciting and educational series. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity for your child to learn a timeless craft and be part of something truly special.
