Scott Pilgrim fans, rejoice! Tribute Games has announced the upcoming release of Scott Pilgrim EX, a new action-packed video game set to hit multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, in early 2026. This exciting news was revealed during Summer Game Fest Live with Geoff Keighley, marking the return of Scott Pilgrim to the gaming world after over a decade.
Developed and published by Tribute Games in collaboration with Universal and series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, Scott Pilgrim EX promises to deliver a fresh take on the beloved retro co-op beat-’em-up genre. Players will once again step into the shoes of Scott and his pals as they embark on a new adventure through “space, time, and the streets of Toronto.”
Featuring seven playable characters, each with their own unique special attacks, Scott Pilgrim EX offers both offline and online four-player co-op gameplay. The game will also introduce non-linear exploration, allowing players to uncover the in-game version of Toronto at their own pace.
One of the most exciting aspects of Scott Pilgrim EX is the creative team behind it. The game will showcase new pixel art from renowned artist Paul Robertson and a fresh soundtrack from Anamanaguchi, known for their work on the original Scott Pilgrim game. Additionally, BenDavid Grabinski, director of the recent Scott Pilgrim Takes Off movie on Netflix, will serve as a creative advisor for this project.
With its blend of nostalgia, modern gameplay mechanics, and a talented creative team, Scott Pilgrim EX is shaping up to be a must-play title for fans of the series and newcomers alike. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the highly anticipated release in 2026.
